School of Management Research Groups
The School's research covers all areas of business and management and we have internationally renowned staff working in the following key fields:
- Tourism and Hospitality Research
- Retail and Marketing Research
- Information Management and Financial Research
Much of our work is published in the leading business and management journals and presented at international conferences. We receive funding for our work from Research Councils (ESRC/EPSRC), the Advanced Institute of Management (AIM), Research Charities (Leverhume), the EU, and major businesses and public-sector bodies. We are proud of our ability to produce work that is at the cutting-edge of management knowledge, but is also of immense practical importance to the organizations and businesses with whom we collaborate.
The School’s research training programme has ESRC recognition and we offer ESRC quota awards for PhD studentships.
In the 2001 Research Assessment Exercise the School received 4 out of a possible 5, an indicator of national and international excellence.
